Real Madrid managed to draw 2-2 against Bayern Munich in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final. Vinicius Junior was the scorer of both goals for the visitors, although Kim Min-jae was blamed for both plays.

The South Korean left a gap that allowed Vini to open the scoring, while in the second half he fouled Rodrygo in the box, allowing the visitors to score from the penalty spot.

Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel was harsh with Min-jae after the game: “He shouldn’t participate in counter-pressing so aggressively because then, he leaves the attacker free. As a central defender, that’s not possible. If he had stepped up and someone else covered his back, it’s fine. But here, he was too greedy. This is simply not possible!”

“The second time is again too greedy. In this situation, he has the inside trajectory secured. And then, for no reason, he suddenly releases this inside trajectory for Rodrygo. He’s better positioned throughout the entire action, and at the moment the pass is made, he’s poorly positioned. And then Eric Dier comes to the rescue. It’s simply too greedy. And if there’s a positional error, at least stay on your feet… He’s not smart enough,” Tuchel added.

Remembering Zagallo

Sambafoot Series launched a new documentary about the football legend Zagallo. Known as ‘Velho Lobo‘ and as superstitious as it gets, Zagallo helped shape what Brazilian football is nowadays — as a player and as a coach.
