The last round of the Ukrainian Championship took place on Saturday (25). Although the title was once again won by Shakhtar Donetsk, a Brazilian from Rukh Lviv celebrated his first season in Europe.

It’s the Brazilian striker Klayver Chrispim. He arrived at the team at the beginning of this year, after playing the Copinha for Ferroviária and scoring two goals in the competition. The young man caught the attention and moved to Ukraine to finish the 23/24 season in his new home. He commented on how this adaptation was and that he still has a lot to evolve.

“It’s a very different style of play, so these first months were full of learning and adaptation. But mainly off the field, where I’m learning the Ukrainian language and culture, which are very different. So I think the most important thing was to get used to all of this, it was a big change and a challenge. I’m sure I’ll evolve a lot more!” said the Brazilian.

On the field, Klayver’s team missed out on a spot in the UEFA Conference League in the last round. Rukh Lviv finished in sixth place, with 49 points in 30 games, with 12 wins, 13 draws and 5 losses. The young striker, who made his debut on April 7 against Shakhtar, said that all this is part of a process and that he believes in the team’s evolution.

“We fought hard for the Conference spot, unfortunately we didn’t make it. But I believe in our group, I’m sure it’s all part of a process, we have to trust the work. It’s a complicated league, as there is a lot of balance between the teams, I came here knowing that. Now it’s important not to get discouraged and to keep going!” he concluded.

Remembering Zagallo

Sambafoot Series launched a new documentary about the football legend Zagallo. Known as ‘Velho Lobo‘ and as superstitious as it gets, Zagallo helped shape what Brazilian football is nowadays — as a player and as a coach.
