Barcelona have confirmed that all tickets for the women’s “El Clásico” versus Real Madrid, which is the second leg of the European Champions League quarter-finals, have already been sold. The fact that the top teams in Spain would only meet each other on March 30th added to the significance of the event. The opening leg will take place on March 22.

The amount of tickets sold by the Catalan club was not disclosed. According to the Spanish press, 85,000 tickets were made available, despite the fact that the Camp Nou stadium holds more than 99,000. If the maximum load is supplied, the game is expected to break the all-time attendance record, which is presently held by the 1999 World Cup final, in which the United States defeated China in front of 90,000 fans at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California.
Even if just 85,000 tickets are sold, the game will be historic since it will be attended by the biggest crowd in the history of Spanish women’s football. At the present, the record is held by the match between Atlético de Madrid and Barcelona at Wanda Metropolitano (in the country’s capital), when 60 thousand fans packed the stadium to see the Spanish Championship match.

Thais Moreno and Daiane Limeira were the most recent Real players signed, and they are presently playing for Roma in Italy and Madrid CFC in Spain, respectively. They played at the clubs between 2020 and 2021.
