With the European club season coming to an end, the rumor mill starts to take centre stage. Neymar is one of the players making the most headlines, since his future at Paris Saint-Germain looks uncertain. The Brazilian is under contract until 2027, but the club could let him go way sooner.
The 31-year-old has left much to be desired in the last few seasons at the Parc des Princes, where he arrived for a record-breaking deal in 2017. With fans questioning his commitment and impact on the team, Ney has been linked with a number of potential destinations, but we may have to rule out a hypothetical return to Barcelona.

Xavi says Neymar is not in Barcelona’s plans
With Ney reportedly on his way out of PSG, Barcelona emerged as a possible suitor in the upcoming transfer window. However, coach Xavi Hernandez denied those rumors, claiming his former teammate is not even on their shortlist for the 2023-24 season.
“Neymar to Barça rumours? It’s a surprise. He’s not on the list. I love him very much, he’s my friend, but he’s not in the planning for next season,” Xavi said, as quoted by Barca Universal. It remains to be seen which targets the Catalans have in mind, but Neymar doesn’t seem to be one of them.

The Brazilian superstar would still have other interested teams, especially in the Premier League. Chelsea and Manchester United have been mentioned as possible landing spots for the Santos product, who is still recovering from an ankle surgery.
