After months of speculation, Barcelona will finally land Vitor Roque earlier than predicted. The Brazilian forward, who was originally set to join the Catalan team in July 2024, will fill the vacancy left by Gavi’s injury in the winter transfer window. In fact, he already bid farewell to Athletico Paranaense.

Even though “Tigrinho” may start to train at the Spanish club in the coming weeks, the Blaugrana will only be able to officially register him in January. Therefore, his debut could take place on January 4, when Barça visit Las Palmas on Matchday 19 of LaLiga. One week later, the Culé will face Osasuna in the semifinal of the Spanish Supercup.

Vitor Roque, ready to join Barcelona

Coming off a fantastic year in Brazil, Roque looks set to pack his bags and move to Spain. The forward will rest when Furacao visit Cuiaba on the last matchday of Brasileirao, in which the Curitiba-based outfit has already secured qualification for the 2024 Sudamericana. The 18-year-old played his last game for the club in the 3-0 victory against Santos on Sunday, and is already looking forward to the next step in his career.

“Since I arrived, they welcomed me very well. I am happy, and it is a dream for me to go to Europe, and now I must continue working. I am confident that I did a successful job helping Furacao achieve the maximum. I am happy for the work and the affection of the fans, who always supported me. I will try to work in the best way with humility to arrive in the best way, and I hope to arrive prepared in Barcelona. I worked hard, and I am very happy for everything that is happening in my life,” Roque said.
