Brazilian left-back Renan Lodi could pack his bags soon to join Olympique de Marseille, according to Foot Mercato. Negotiations between the French side and Atlético de Madrid are said to be ‘very advanced’ and the clubs could finally reach an agreement soon.
The 5-year-old would be a massive addition for OM, who badly needed a player in the left-back position after the departure of Sead Kolasinac to Atalanta. However, the Brazilian – who spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest – is still under contract in Spain until 2026.

“Very advanced” negotiations
The report claims Lodi is interested in Olympique de Marseille as well, turning down offers from other clubs, especially in England, to join the French team: “According to our information, the negotiations are very advanced between all the parties and a verbal agreement exists between Renan Lodi and OM. Courted by other clubs, especially in England, he gave priority to the Marseille club.”
Lodi’s technique, versatility and international experience would represent a major asset in the quest for sporting success for Marseille. This season, the French giants will play UEFA Champions League football.
