Manchester United have been linked with a move for Tottenham superstar Harry Kane for a while now. The England international has drawn interest from many other European giants in recent years, but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has been reluctant to let him go.

The Sun reports the Red Devils are once again going after the 29-year-old this summer, but their £80 million offer wouldn’t be enough to persuade the north London outfit. Therefore, Brazilian midfielder Fred could be on his way out as United aim to land the coveted striker.

Fred could be sold to meet Spurs’ price tag for Kaene

British outlet Express claims selling Fred could be the key for United to meet Spurs’ demands. The 30-year-old could be sold for £20 million, which is reportedly the difference between Manchester’s last offer and Tottenham’s price tag for Kane.

The English star has been loyal to his club all these years, but its lack of success could force him to chase silverware elsewhere. Levy may not want to sell him to an English rival, though, when he can probably find suitors for the prolific No. 9 outside the UK.
