After suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in October last year, Neymar Jr. has been the target of countless criticisms regarding his lifestyle during his lengthy recovery. In addition to the well-known case of the cruise where he spent several days partying, he has recently come under heavy criticism for his physical condition.

When he appeared publicly at the birthday party of Brazilian legend Romároo, images went viral on social media showing him “overweight.” As we explained here at the time, the use of oversized clothing, the camera angle at the time the photo was taken, and the obvious lack of physical activity allowed the image to be taken out of context. Neymar fires back at his haters

The Brazilian star took the opportunity to clear doubts about his physical condition with a video posted on an Instagram story. In said video, the winger had just finished training and showed his belly while addressing the comments about his body: “Training finished. Above my weight? Great. But fat? I don’t think so.”

The Al-Hilal footballer concluded his video by insulting his haters for their excessive criticisms. However, comments about his physical condition have continued to circulate on social media.

It may be true that Neymar is a bit out of shape, but under no circumstances is he obese or fat as some people have tried to portray. For now, the star continues to work to return to the field with the dream of being in shape for the Copa America, but everything indicates that his recovery will take much longer.
