After 58 years of wait, West Ham have finally lifted another European trophy. David Moyes’ team beat Fiorentina 2-1 in a dramatic UEFA Conference League final in Prague, in which Lucas Paquetá played an instrumental role by setting up Jarred Bowen’s game-winning goal.
Said Benrahma put the Hammers in front from the penalty spot after 62 minutes, but the Italians hit back quickly via Giacomo Bonaventura. When extra time was drawing nearer, Paquetá came up with a brilliant pass to let Bowen score the decisive goal in the dying minutes.

Lucas Paquetá praised for his performance against Fiorentina
English outlet Daily Mail rated Lucas Paquetá’s performance with a 7.5, one of the highest ratings in his team. “Sprinkled Brazilian stardust to set Bowen up to score the winner,” the review read. Paquetá joined the London team last year in a €43 million move from Olympique Lyon.
Even though he struggled for consistency throughout the campaign, the Brazilian got to show glimpses of his talent, proving he can bring a lot to the table. In the end, the 25-year-old helped West Ham win a long-awaited European title. Besides, he still has plenty of time to turn up his level even more.
