After more than three years at the club, Igor could leave Fiorentina this summer. Fabrizio Romano reports that the Brazilian defender has already agreed on personal terms with Brighton on a four-year deal, but the Premier League club has yet to meet the Italian club’s demands.
The 25-year-old is entering the final year of his contract with the Viola, who have an option for a further season, according to Transfermarkt. It took some time, but it looks like Igor is finally getting the recognition he deserves after years of hard work in Europe.

Igor’s path in Europe so far
Igor’s career has been quite particular, since he moved to the Old Continent before he could even make his professional debut in Brazil. He packed his bags as a teenager in 2016, leaving Bragantino’s academy to join Austrian outfit FC Liefering as a free agent. Only a year later, the centre back took a step forward by signing for Salzburg.

From then on, he spent time with Wolfsberger AC and Austria Vienna on loan until Salzburg sold him to SPAL in 2019. Only six months into his new club, Fiorentina struck a deal to land him on loan from the Serie A rivals, eventually making the deal permanent in the summer of 2021. Now, Igor could have his first experience in the Premier League.
