Atlético de Madrid redeemed themselves from the Spanish Super Cup loss by defeating Real Madrid 4-2 in the Copa del Rey round of 16. Vinicius Junior once again made headlines not only for scoring but also for his confrontations with players, fans, and opposing ball boys.

In fact, the Brazilian was booked for a furious reaction towards a ball boy who obstructed the game for the Merengue on more than one occasion. Since then, Atlético tried everything to provoke him and force a second yellow card. Even Diego Simeone repeatedly called for the booking of the “7,” leading to a conflict between him and Vini. Far from scolding Vinicius, Carlo Ancelotti took what happened with his player calmly.

Ancelotti believes Vinicius will learn

“He will gradually learn from this. He has had many duels, and sometimes you are not able to keep a cool head. This is understandable. For me, nothing has happened; he played very well, he fought,” said Carletto, who had nothing to say about the discussion between Vinicius and the opposing coach: “I didn’t notice anything with Cholo.”

The previous time against Atlético, the former Flamengo player was unstoppable and even scored a hat-trick. This time, he couldn’t have such an impact, but he still left his coach satisfied: “He had more difficulty in the match; it was a constant game. He performed well.”
