Luis Diaz went through a nightmare in the last few weeks, with his father being kidnapped for 13 days by guerrilla group ELN in Colombia. Now that he’s released, the Liverpool winger can be relieved, but it was definitely a tough experience for the Colombian star and those around him.
Liverpool teammate Alisson recently addressed how the team dealt with this situation, as everyone had to make sure to be there for Diaz without making the situation any harder than it already was.

Alisson addresses Luis Diaz’s situation
“It was terrible moments, especially for the family and those of us who are close. We didn’t have much to do, just be close to him. Especially us South Americans, we have a very good relationship, we try to give strength. Liverpool provided all the support,” said Alisson, via ESPN.
“I went through a tough time there and received more support than expected. I knew that help was important. I come with joy to face him, knowing that his father is well, free. It’s definitely a major trauma, it will take time to recover. He will watch from home or from the stadium. Luis Díaz will give us a hard time, he’s a great player. We are focused on neutralizing not only him but also other players from Colombia.”
Alisson faced Diaz as Brazil played Colombia in Barranquilla for the World Cup Qualifiers, and Los Cafeteros got the upper hand. In fact, Diaz bagged a brace to help the hosts claim a come-from-behind win, with his father looking emotional in the stands.
