Lúcio says Inter must avoid offensive strategy against City
“Of course, when it comes to a final, it’s just a game, anything can happen. It will depend a lot on Inter’s game strategy. They cannot play as equals because of the squad and Guardiola’s own tradition, who is a very intelligent coach. Inter have chances, but they need a different and well-defined strategy to beat City,” Lúcio told Ge.
“I would say to have a game strategy and take advantage of the chance in every moment of that match. It’s paying attention, it’s knowing that you don’t have room for error to win a title like the Champions League, a long-awaited final. We know that every year is something exciting, something for everyone to watch. It’s dedication, believing and fighting for the dream. Just dreaming is not enough, you have to fight, chase and do your best on the field. I think (it will be) 2-0 for City, but I want Inter to win. That’s my guess, but I think that 1-0 for Inter Milan would also be a great final, a party in Italy,” he added.
Lúcio knows what is like to be the underdog. In 2010, no one expected Jose Mourinho’s team to upset Guardiola’s Barça at the Camp Nou and later to take down Bayern Munich at the Santiago Bernabéu. But Inter believed and they got the job done. Will they pull off another shock in Istambul?
