Rappaz’s passion for Pelé dates back to his teenage years. In 1970, when he was 15, he attended the World Cup final in Mexico, where he got to see Pelé play for the first time. This moment marked the beginning of a deep admiration for the legendary player.

Later, as an intern at Nouvelliste, Rappaz had the opportunity to meet Pelé in Montreux during an unforgettable three-quarter-hour interview. This experience solidified Rappaz’s admiration for the soccer star.

A precious collection testifying to the legendary career of Pelé

Rappaz’s private collection is the result of his years covering sporting events as a journalist. During his career, he had the chance to participate in five Football World Cups, which allowed him to accumulate various items related to Pelé.

These items include a sweater, the 1970 Panini album and other collectibles that he traded with other enthusiasts, including foreign collectors. The Rappaz collection is a precious testimony to Pelé’s extraordinary career and life.

However, this passion for collecting Pelé memorabilia comes at a cost. Rappaz admits that his passion required a considerable financial investment.

All items in his collection are exclusively related to Pelé, including equipment used by the Brazilian player at the various clubs he played at, as well as photos and autographed shoes.
