The winners of the Samba Gold 2024 award have been revealed! Vinicius Junior, Tamires and Wesley Gassova are the great champions of this edition after receiving the majority of votes from the public. Samba Gold is awarded annually to the best Brazilian player, player and under-20 player playing outside Brazil.

Get to know our story
Samba Gold was created by Samba Agency (Sambafoot) in 2008 and had former midfielder Kaká as its first winner. Neymar Jr. took home the trophy six times and became the biggest winner in the award’s history. Thiago Silva is second in the historical ranking, with three awards. In the 2023 edition, Vini Jr. was the public’s top choice.
Initially aimed exclusively at men’s soccer, Samba Gold has grown every year and now includes three categories: men’s, women’s and U-20.
The award used to take into account the athletes’ performance on European territory only, but in 2021, it was expanded to all continents.

Electoral College
Formed by a select group of professionals linked to the world of football, the Electoral College is responsible for nominating the nominees in the three categories.

Public vote
The winners are chosen through a public vote. Once voting begins, everyone can vote for their favorite in each category.

Our rules
NO.1
- Samba Gold
The aim is to nominate 10 Brazilian players in each category who have stood out the most during the year. The award takes into account the player’s statistics, role, achievements and overall impact on their club(s) from the start to the end of the year.
NO.2
- Appointments
The lists of nominees in each category are made up of 10 male, 10 female and 10 under-20 names. The members of the Electoral College are responsible for nominating the nominees in the three categories.

- The voters
Samba Gold 2024 voters are readers, users and followers of the Sambafoot website.
NO.4
- Voting process
Voting for the three Samba Gold 2024 categories begins on SEPTEMBER 1, 2024, and closes on NOVEMBER 30, 2024. Each voter will be able to choose one (1) candidate from each category as their favorite to win this edition.

- The trophy
The personalized Samba Gold 2024 trophy will be awarded by Sambafoot directly to the three winners – male, female and under-20. The winners will be revealed on DECEMBER 1, 2024. The announcement will be made via Sambafoot’s own website and social networks and on the Samba Gold page.
