Zenit, from Russia, has intensified its interest in having defender Nino, from Fluminense. According to information from the website GE.com, the defender is “shaken” by the offer.
Zenit would be willing to pay 5 million euros (R$27 million) to sign the athlete from the Rio team. Additionally, the Russian club increased the player’s salary offer, according to GE.com.

At the beginning of the transfer window, Zenit had already made an offer for Nino. But the player had not been excited about the possibility of playing in Russian football. However, the situation took a turn with Zenit’s new attack.
GE.com states that the proposal for Fluminense is practically the same. But the salary figures offered to Nino are tempting. The amount would be higher than what the athlete would earn when he almost transferred to Tigres, from Mexico, in 2022.
Nino has a contract with Fluminense until the end of this 2024 season. From July onwards, the defender will be able to sign a pre-contract with any other team. In the agreement between the defender and Fluminense, a proposal from abroad above 5 million euros must be accepted.
Nottingham Forest, from England, and Real Betis, from Spain, are other teams that show interest in signing Nino. It’s reported that Betis even signaled to the athlete’s agent their desire to sign the defender this year.
Fluminense thought about offering a contract renewal proposal to Nino, with a career project. But the defender has already made clear his interest in seeking challenges in European football.
Nino’s trajectory
With the Tricolor das Laranjeiras shirt, Nino has played 244 games. The defender scored 13 goals for Fluminense. Captain of Fernando Diniz’s team, the defender had the highest scoring season in 2023, finding the net on five occasions.
Nino began his career in football in Sport’s youth categories. The defender was revealed to the professional by Criciúma. The athlete arrived at Fluminense in the 2019 season, on loan from the Santa Catarina team.
Since arriving at Fluminense, the defender has been targeted by teams from Saudi Arabia, Mexico and Turkey. But negotiations for the captain of the Rio team were not completed.
