The Brasileirão continues to attract interest from veteran footballers looking to end their careers in a highly competitive league with a very high overall level. More and more Europeans and foreigners, in general, are opting to accept the challenge of changing scenery towards the South American giant, and everything indicates that the latest addition to this list will be the French-Congolese player, Yannick Bolasie.

Bolasie, with a long and illustrious career in the Premier League with teams like Crystal Palace, Everton, or Aston Villa, is currently a free agent after ending his contract with Swansea in the English Championship. According to Fabrizio Romano, he has already verbally agreed to join the Brasileirão.

Yannick Bolasie will arrive in Brazil next week. Criciúma, a recently promoted club to the top tier of Brazilian football, has reportedly reached an agreement with Yannick Bolasie for him to join their squad for the current season. All parties involved have allegedly agreed to a pre-contract, presumably of short to medium duration, so that the 34-year-old player can have his first experience in South American football at a club where he will likely play a significant role.

Romano assures that the agreement is well underway and, although it is still far from being officially finalized, Bolasie is willing to travel to Brazil next week to sign the agreement and get to know the facilities of what will be his next team. At Swansea, where he signed in November 2023, Bolasie played only 12 matches in which he could neither score nor assist. However, he will seek redemption in Brazilian football. Will he succeed?
