Brazil and Colombia will play on Tuesday, July 2nd, at 22:00 (Brasília time) in a key match to determine the standings in Group D of the Copa América. The Seleção needs to win to take the top spot from the Colombians. A draw would leave them in second place, while a heavy defeat or a big win by Costa Rica over Paraguay could mean a premature elimination.

The venue for the duel will be Levi’s Stadium, located in California and home to the San Francisco 49ers, one of the most important American football teams. Inaugurated in 2014, it has a capacity of about 68,500 spectators, with the possibility of accommodating up to 75,000.

Although its usual use is for the NFL regular season, including hosting the Super Bowl in 2016, it is a multipurpose stadium due to its easily adaptable design. In this sense, it hosted the 31st edition of WrestleMania in 2015, one of the most important events on the professional wrestling calendar.

That year, the facilities were also used to host an NHL game, the United States ice hockey league. Other uses have included motocross competitions, conferences, and in 2021, it was used as a mass vaccination site during the COVID-19 pandemic.

It has also hosted major musical concerts. The Rolling Stones, Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, and U2 are some of the artists who have performed there.

Football is not unfamiliar to Levi’s Stadium either. It hosted matches in the 2016 Copa América Centenario, as well as international friendlies for teams like Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Manchester United, and Liverpool. It will also host some matches of the 2026 World Cup, co-organized by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
