FC Barcelona presented its new home jersey with a video that evokes some of its legends, including Ronaldinho, and links them with some of its current figures such as Lamine Yamal. It is a nod to the transition between the past, represented by a kit inspired by the beginnings of the club that is celebrating its 125th anniversary, and the present.

The images begin with Ronaldinho inside a car, making his famous hand gesture, showing off his trademark smile and holding an old football that symbolizes the roots of the institution. “Let’s play,” says the star and launches that ball that travels through different stages of Barça’s past and present.

The video then moves on to Raphinha, one of the Brazilians on the first team, playing a drum to the rhythm of samba and with Brazilian and Barcelona flags in the background. Still with the green and yellow background, Lamine Yamal appears, repeating Ronaldinho’s typical hand signal, marking that he is an heir to his magic and joy.

The recording, lasting less than two minutes, also features special appearances by Andrés Iniesta and Hristo Stoichkov. It also contains recordings with very memorable moments starring legends like Lionel Messi, Neymar, Johan Cruyff and Ronald Koeman, among others.

According to information provided by Barcelona, the jersey is inspired by the club’s first kit in 1899: the two-tone replaces the vertical stripes.

“Coinciding with the 125th anniversary celebration, the design of the FC Barcelona 24/25 season jersey is inspired by the roots, trajectory and legacy of the club. Using the blue and garnet colors, present in the shield as a central element, a distinctive, unique and symbolic design has been created that evokes the identity of the team over the years,” the institution explained in a statement.

Lamine Yamal takes the number 19 from Vitor Roque

Regarding the changes in squad numbers, Barça announced that their 17-year-old jewel Lamine Yamal will wear the number 19 that was Vitor Roque’s last season. The Brazilian, with few minutes on the pitch since his arrival earlier this year, “will have a new squad number,” the club announced, without giving further details.
