Neymar’s debut at Al Hilal has been a subject of curiosity. The Brazilian had played a friendly with Paris Saint-Germain during this pre-season, but Jorge Jesus, his new coach, said that he was hurt and probably would only return to the field in the middle of September.
“Neymar is an innovative and creative player who will definitely contribute to our team. Unfortunately, he is currently injured and it is difficult to say for sure when he will be back. We hope it will be ready by mid-September,” Jesus said.
Neymar, who hasn’t featured for Brazil since last year’s World Cup, was added to the squad to face Bolivia on September 8 and then Peru four days later.
“I don’t quite understand why Neymar is in the squad for the Brazilian national team, a player who is injured. Maybe, they’ll force Neymar to go to Brazil. He won’t play, because he’s in no condition to play. more than playing. But I know he’s in the squad,” complained the Al-Hilal coach.

Neymar would be available against Al Ittihad and also for Brazil
Despite the complaints of Jesus, CBF decided to keep Neymar called up for the games. The only replacement was made because of Vinicius Junior’s injury as Raphinha will take the place of the Real Madrid player.
