Endrick is the main surprise in Fernando Diniz’s call-up for the games against Colombia and Argentina. The Palmeiras’ forward has been in a good phase as of late and is one of the most promising players in Brazilian football.

The question of whether he will play or not is still to be defined, but it’s highly likely that he will make his debut in the match against Colombia tomorrow (16), as the national team will not have Gabriel Jesus as an option and Diniz is pretending a powerful attack, with Rodrygo, Vinicius Junior, Raphinha and Gabriel Martinelli.

“The chat with Endrick, I had already talked to him upon arrival. He is a very special player, at his age being able to produce what he already produces, he opens up room to project a bright future. He comes for his merit and enormous future potential,” stated Diniz in a press conference held this Wednesday (15).

“I will contribute as much as I can, but with the coach’s limitations. Here we have 24 players to pay attention to. It is being very well fed with information at Palmeiras with Abel (Ferreira) and the staff. But it means lowering expectations a little. He doesn’t have to be a pressured player. We don’t have to expect everything from Endrick at 17 years old. I see huge potential. He could become one of those legendary players in Brazilian football in the future. But time will confirm this,” he added.

If Endrick gets into the field, he will the 5th youngster player to wear the Brazilian National Team shirt, surpassing Ronaldo on the list, who played his first match at 17 years and 186 days, while Pelé is at the top of the list, with 16 years and 257 days on his debut. Endrick will be 17 years and 118 days.
