Marta’s replacement
In the third-round match of the group stage against Spain, Brazilian forward Marta was sent off with a direct red card.
In a disproportionate force play, she kicked her opponent in the face and was suspended for two matches due to the severity of the foul.
As a result, Marta is unavailable for the Brazilian team in the semifinals, and Brazil will need to adapt without the star player.
