Which tournaments of the Brazilian National Team has Neymar missed due to injuries?

Since 2010, when Neymar made his debut for the Brazilian national team, the star has missed out on some tournaments completely and others partially. Here is the list:

2014 World Cup: Neymar had his participation in the 2014 World Cup interrupted due to a back injury suffered during the quarterfinal match against Colombia, which left him out of the semifinal and third-place final.

2015 Copa América: Neymar was suspended for four games after being sent off during the 2015 Copa América and, consequently, could not play the rest of the competition.

2019 Copa América: Neymar missed the 2019 Copa América due to an ankle injury that kept him out of action for a significant period of time, leaving the number 10 jersey out of the continental conquest.

Why wasn’t Neymar called up for the Copa América?

Neymar continues to treat a serious knee injury that kept him out of most of the season for Al-Hilal and also the Brazilian National Team.

To give an idea, Neymar’s last match for the Brazilian National Team was against Uruguay in the World Cup qualifiers, where Brazil played away and lost 2-0.

Therefore, the Brazilian is expected to return to the pitch only in the last games of the season or even in the next one, which starts only in August.

When is the Brazilian National Team’s debut in the Copa América?

Brazil faces Mexico in the opening match on June 8th, at 9:30 pm (Brasilia time), at the Kyle Field stadium in Texas, United States.

Remembering Zagallo
