With over 60 years of existence, the Libertadores has established itself as the most prestigious club competition in South America. A handful of Brazilian sides have been able to get their hands on the trophy, but the winningest team is from Argentina.

Independiente are the most successful club in tournament history, with seven Libertadores to their name since their last triumph in 1984. Below them are Boca Juniors with six trophies, with three teams separating the Argentine giants from Brazil’s group of three-time champions.
