After breaking Pelé’s record of official goals scored with the Brazilian National Team, all eyes are on Neymar as he prepares to make his long-awaited debut for Al Hilal.
Since his move from Paris Saint-Germain to the Saudi club around a month ago, fans around the world have been eagerly waiting to see the Brazilian prodigy take to the pitch for his new team.
Initially, Neymar was supposed to make his debut in the key match against Al Ittihad, a highly anticipated derby. However, due to a slight injury suffered during training, coach Jorge Jesus made the decision to preserve him. He criticized the call-up to the Brazilian National Team.

Despite that, Neymar put on a stunning show during the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers. Not only did he score two goals against Bolivia, but he also set a new record in becoming the top scorer in Brazilian history, surpassing Pelé according to FIFA rankings. He also gave an assist to Marquinhos in the 1-0 victory against Peru.
He played the full 90-minutes in the first game and was subbed out only in overtime in the second one.
Now, eyes turn to this Friday (September 15) as expectations are high for Neymar’s first official match with Al Hilal. The Saudi club currently lead the Saudi League with 13 points from five matches and will hope to maintain their dominant position in their clash against Al Riyadh.
