Vitória is back in Série A of the Brasileirão after a five-year absence. They secured a place in next year’s competition by defeating Novorizontino 2-1 this Sunday (12), away from home, in the 36th round of the competition.
With 69 points, Vitória is also very close to being the champion of Série B. All they need to do is draw one of the two remaining games (Sport, at home, and Chapecoense, away) or for Criciúma not to win their three remaining matches.

This Tuesday (14), Criciúma will face Guarani in Campinas. If the team from Santa Catarina does not defeat the team from São Paulo, Vitória will benefit and win the title.
Vitória’s campaign in the 2023 Series B has been brilliant, with 21 wins in 36 games. The team’s top scorer in the competition is veteran Vagner Love, with 11 goals, just two behind the championship’s top scorer: Gustavo Coutinho, from Atlético-GO.
