Revealed by Cruzeiro, Vitinho left Brazilian football early, with just one game as a professional. After four seasons at Cercle Brugge, the right-back was signed by Burnley last season, where he already won the Championship and, in 23/24, he competes in the Premier League for the first time.

Last week, the Brazilian renewed his contract with the English club until 2027. He believes that this is a result of the work he has been doing for the team led by Vincent Kompany and highlights his quick adaptation in England.

“This renewal is a consequence of the work I have been doing here at Burnley. Since I arrived, I have been very well received by everyone at the club, from the cast to the staff, so this helped a lot with the adaptation. I hope to repay the board’s trust in me on the field, helping the team to achieve the proposed objectives,” he said.

Championship winners, Burnley did not return to the Premier League very well. In six rounds, it occupies 19th place and seeks to react in the championship. Vitinho states that the club’s objective is to guarantee its maintenance in the English elite and believes in the quality of the squad to achieve the goal.

“The Premier League is the strongest and most difficult championship in the world. We didn’t have a very good start, but I believe in the quality of our squad and we have everything we need to turn this situation around in the league. Upon returning to the Premier, our objective is to keep the club in the first division and we will do our best to do so, because that is where a club like Burnley deserves to be,” Vitinho promised.
