Vinicius tops Europe’s best dribblers last season, ahead of Messi

Last season in Europe marked the confirmation of Vinicius Junior’s talent and his emergence a little more in the eyes of the world.

With a season crowned by winning a Copa Del Rey with Real Madrid, Vinicius also has quantified individual statistical levels. The following stats confirms the extent of what the Brazilian player achieved last season.

Vinicius, best dribbler in Europe

In addition to his 23 goals and 21 assists delivered last year in 55 games played with Madrid, Vinicius was, during the 2022-2023 season, the best dribbler in Europe in the league. This is what emerges from the statistics produced by the renowned sports analysis company, Opta Sports.

With 112 successful dribbles, for a success rate of 37%, Vinicius is ahead of Lionel Messi and Rennais Jeremy Doku with 102 and 96 successful dribbles respectively, for 55% and 60% success. And he could even this year or in the years to come easily beat this record, as his room for improvement in this aspect of the game is still great.

Rodrygo, also a part of the ranking, is the 10th best dribbler in Europe with 81 successful dribbles and a success rate of 48%, or one successful dribble out of 2 attempted.
