Double in debut for Copa Libertadores
On March 15, 2018, in his first official match for the Copa Libertadores, a 17-year-old Vini entered the second half when Flamengo was losing 1-0 against Emelec and scored a double that allowed his team to turn the result around. In this way, he became the youngest player in the history of Mengão to score in this competition.
Debut with the Brazilian team
In a 1-0 loss to Peru in a friendly on September 11, 2019, Vinicius made his first appearance for Brazil’s senior team when he replaced Richarlison after 74 minutes.
First goal in El Clásico
Vinicius scored for the first time against Barcelona on March 1, 2020, when Real Madrid won the Clásico 2-0. With that goal, the Brazilian broke Lionel Messi’s record as the youngest player to score in the Spanish derby in this century.
Winning goal in the UEFA Champions League final
One moment Vinicius will probably never forget is the 2021/22 UEFA Champions League final, as he scored the only goal of the game as Real Madrid beat Liverpool at the Stade de France. While for the Merengues it was the No. 14 star, it was the first trophy for the Brazilian.
