The Brazilian U-17 team beat England 2-1 and, due to goal difference with respect to Iran, was second in its group C of the World Cup of the category being held in Indonesia. The team led by Phelipe Leal will now face Ecuador in the round of 16.

After losing in the debut against Iran and beating New Caledonia 9-0, the Seleção needed the three points to not depend on other results. And he achieved his goal in an electrifying duel, with a constant back-and-forth, that was played in the capital Jakarta.

Estevão, the game changer

The game opened at 43′, when Estevão invented an individual play inside the area and then, after the rebound off a defender, Kaua Elias did not forgive and added his fourth goal of the tournament.

Already in the second half the increase appeared on the scoreboard: in the 54th minute Da Mata scored a header after a cross from Lucas Camilo that met with a weak reaction from the English goalkeeper, who had been performing well.

Despite not having absolute control of the ball, the result gave relief to Brazil and a feeling of having the match closed. But England scored in the 71st minute through a penalty converted by Joel Ndala, which was reviewed for several minutes by the VAR.

The European team was emboldened by that goal and tried to attack the opposing area in the fifteen minutes that the match referee added. But it was the Amarelinha that had the best opportunities to increase, mainly with a header from Luighi and a shot from Lorran.
