Trained at Flamengo, Yuri César and Guilherme Bala took advantage of their long presence in the country to become UAE citizens and strengthen the sporting ambitions of local national team

Yuri César and Guilherme Bala, two talented Brazilian players, recently obtained UAE citizenship, opening up the possibility of playing for the country’s national football team. These players, who currently play for the Shabab Al-Ahli club, have attracted attention thanks to their exceptional performances on the field.

Yuri César began his career at Flamengo, one of the most prestigious clubs in Brazil, at the age of nine. After coming through the youth team ranks, he was loaned to Fortaleza in 2020 before returning to Flamengo and eventually joining Shabab Al-Ahli. His versatile playing style and goal-scoring ability have made him one of the most promising players in Brazilian football.

Guilherme Bala

For his part, Guilherme Bala was also trained at Flamengo, where he represented the under-20 team. Before joining Shabab Al-Ahli, he featured in matches for Madureira and Ferroviária in 2021. His fast and technical play allows him to stand out on the pitch, making him a valuable asset to his team.

Future

The naturalization of Yuri César and Guilherme Bala as UAE citizens demonstrates the UAE’s growing interest in recruiting talented foreign players. The country is looking to strengthen its national football team by integrating exceptional players from other nationalities. However, although both of these players have obtained UAE citizenship, they will still need to meet FIFA requirements to be eligible to represent the UAE on the international stage.
