A tragedy occurred Tuesday evening in Brazil. Felipe Diogo, a professional footballer aged only 21, was shot and killed in disturbing circumstances in Ribeirao Preto, his hometown. According to the first elements of the investigation, several armed men opened fire on him, shooting him around ten times. Rushed to hospital, he unfortunately did not survive his injuries.

This assassination shook the world of Brazilian football. Felipe Diogo was considered a promising young prospect. Trained at the big clubs Botafogo and Cruzeiro, he made his professional debut last year with the Sao Bernardo club, in Serie C. At only 21 years old, he had already scored 4 goals this season and seemed to have a bright future ahead of him.

Local police have opened an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of this crime and identify the perpetrators. For the moment, the motive for the murder remains unknown. This act of violence in the street leaves Felipe Diogo’s family and loved ones in great pain. His club, Sao Bernardo, paid tribute to their much-loved young striker, offering their deepest condolences to the family in this moment of mourning.
