Long-held desire
Fluminense"s board has never hidden their desire to repatriate one of the great idols in their history. Last month, Thiago Silva announced that he would not stay at Chelsea after the end of his contract. The defender arrives at the Rio de Janeiro club to take the place of Nino, who was negotiated with Zenit, from Russia.
President “gave the word" on Thiago Silva"s return
During the “Tricolor em Toda Terra" event, in Vitória, Espírito Santo, Mário Bittencourt revealed that the agreement for Thiago Silva"s arrival had not yet happened. The expectation was that the parties would conclude the negotiation this week, which is what happened.
“[I] wanted to take advantage of the fact that you are all here filming, there are a lot of people watching, to ask that we can create a social media campaign. It is very clear to me that the club issue is settled. I think he is very determined to come back home," said the Flu director.
