Vitor Roque’s debut with FC Barcelona is taking shape. He has already been presented, he had his first training sessions with his new teammates and now it has been made official that he will wear the number 19, a number that great players in the club have already worn, including several scorers.

While the leaders work against the clock to be able to officially register him in LaLiga and overcome the last obstacle that prevents his debut, it is already known that in his first season the young forward will wear the same number on his back that Lionel Messi used between 2006 and 2008, when the 10 was Ronaldinho.

Since the numbering of the footballers is fixed, the 19 was also owned by other great goalscorers in the area such as the Dutch Patrick Kluivert (in the 1998-1999 season) and the Argentine Juan Antonio Pizzi (1996-1998). More recently, it was also worn by great forwards such as Ferran Torres, who now has the number 7, and Sergio Agüero.

The Brazilians who wore number 19 at FC Barcelona

Before the young man from Athletico Paranaense, that number was worn by two Brazilians: the most remembered is Maxwell, who chose that number during the three seasons that the left back defended in the Catalan team (2009-2012), and the other is Matheus Fernandes, who had a very brief time at the club.

Apart from these footballers, the 19 was also used by Martin Braithwaite (2020), Kevin-Prince Boateng (2019), Munir (2018-19), Lucas Digne (2016) -17, 2017-18), Ibrahim Afellay (2013- 14) and Dani (1999-2003), among others.
