The Champions League round of 16 was drawn and, as usual, offered some very attractive duels to follow. The duel between Inter and Atlético Madrid is, in principle, one of the most balanced clashes, but in a two-way elimination anything can happen, and Real Sociedad has every chance of challenging Paris Saint-Germain, for example.

Real Madrid, holder of 14 titles and king of this competition, will face Leipzig, who could be a formidable opponent. The two teams already met last year in the group stage, with the Spaniards winning 2-0 at the Santiago Bernabéu and losing 3-2 in Germany.

Another interesting clash will be that between FC Barcelona and Napoli, in a duel that revisits the two main clubs where Diego Maradona played in Europe. It is a meeting between the reigning champion of Spain and Italy, but who arrive at this stage of the season with inconsistent performances and the need to achieve a good result.

Reigning Champions League champions Manchester City will face Copenhagen, an opponent who caused a surprise by qualifying from a shared group with Manchester United. Other fixtures include Porto-Arsenal, PSV Eindhoven-Borussia Dortmund and Lazio-Bayern Munich.

The round of 16 matches will take place over four weeks: the first legs will take place on February 13, 14, 20 and 21, while the return matches will take place on March 5, 6, 12 and 13. The final will be played at Wembley Stadium, London, on June 1.
