Firm and efficient whenever called upon by coach Arthur Elias, defender Thais is ready for the title match on Saturday (10th) between Brazil and the United States in the Olympic football tournament in Paris. With the team’s recent string of games and historic victories, she is convinced that the current National Team will serve as a reference for many young girls wanting to start in football.
Thais also emphasizes that Brazilian women’s football is gaining more visibility each year, and this is a trend that won’t reverse.

“We have better structure, with more investments in clubs and national teams, which attracts fans and sponsors who now see us in a different light. Visibility has increased significantly, with many people following us,” she stated.
In recognition of the efforts of many players who fought for the sport in Brazil, Thais said that the National Team’s performance in the Olympics reflects what was accomplished years ago.
“Many of them started this whole story, and continuity is very important because they fought a lot. For sure, what we are achieving here directly involves those women who came before us. We will continue the work so that in the future, the girls who join us can also enjoy this growth, this structure, and this visibility.”
The defender celebrated Marta’s return to the team and said that the forward is essential in a final.
“Marta, because of the leadership she represents, is a very important person for the group both on and off the field; we need her in every way.”
