Coach Steve Corica praised Lacerda’s qualities, highlighting his height, power, and ability to read the game. He expects Lacerda to trouble opposing strikers with his aggression and speed. Lacerda joins a group of high-quality international players at Sydney FC, complementing the team’s young Australian talents and experienced veterans.
Notably, Lacerda will wear the number 15 shirt, previously worn by club legend Terry McFlynn. This number holds a special meaning for Lacerda as it coincides with his father’s birthday, and he intends to wear it with pride as a tribute to his family’s support throughout his journey.
Lacerda wasted no time and began training with the Sky Blues squad immediately, putting himself in contention for the Australia Cup semi-final against Melbourne City.
