The Brazilian Women’s National Team has an illustrious presence on its coaching staff. During the last FIFA date of this year, Roseli, pioneer of the Brazilian Warriors and icon of women’s football, will be a one-off assistant for the Brazilian team.

She is with the group that began preparing for the three friendlies this Monday (27). The first will be against Japan on Thursday (30) at the Neo Química Arena.

Recognized for her beautiful goals, the former striker had already joined the technical team of the Under-17 National Team in 2021, collaborating with coach Simone Jatobá during a training period in Pinheiral, Rio de Janeiro. In 2023, he returns at the invitation of Arthur Elias as a one-off assistant.

“The national team is a difficult thing to talk about and at the same time good, because I lived it all. I spent 16 years in the national team and for me this invitation from Arthur to be here as his occasional assistant has been of great value. Not only for me, but also for the pioneers of Brazilian women’s football, because I’m not just here for myself, I’m for them too. If it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t be here,” he said.

Roseli highlighted that her only goal is to contribute to the evolution of Brazil and help athletes.

“Today I helped by giving some advice and suggestions. My intention here is to help the National Team. That’s what we want, because Brazil’s level has to be up there.”

WHO IS ROSELI?

Roseli made history by participating in the first Brazilian Women’s National Team in 1988. She dedicated an impressive 16 years of her life to the national team. During her career with Amarelinha, the former striker won the Olympic silver medal in Athens 2004, marking the final chapter of her career with the Brazilian shirt. In addition to this feat, Roseli was also a key player in the South American victories of 1991, 1995 and 1998, in addition to winning the gold medal at the 2003 Pan American Games, in Santo Domingo.
