Neymar began his career in the youth categories with Santos before making his professional debut in 2009, during the Paulista championship. He continued to play for the Brazilian club until 2013 when he transferred to FC Barcelona in Spain.
According to FIFA’s solidarity mechanism, Santos is entitled to receive 4% of all future deals involving Neymar. This speaks to the important role Santos played in developing the player’s talent. The funds received through this transaction will strengthen the infrastructure of the club and support the training of young talents for the future.
