The famous Brazilian club Santos FC paid tribute on social networks to Dona Celeste Arantes, the mother of football legend Pelé, who celebrated her 101st birthday.
Born in 1940, Pelé is considered one of the greatest players of all time having won three World Cups with Brazil. He played 18 seasons with Santos, scoring more than 1000 goals.

Unfortunately, Pelé was not able to celebrate his mother’s important birthday himself. The Brazilian star died on December 29, 2022 in São Paulo at the age of 82.
It is therefore her lifelong club, Santos FC, which wanted to pay tribute to Dona Celeste and commemorate this event via social networks. On Twitter, the club sent its warmest congratulations to Pelé’s mother: “Today, the mother of our eternal King Pelé celebrates her 101st birthday! Happy birthday, Dona Celeste!”.
