Santos confirmed, this Thursday (4), the sale of midfielder Gabriel Pirani to DC United, a Major League Soccer (MLS) team in the United States. The North American club paid US$1.3 million, approximately R$6.3 million, to sign the 21-year-old player.
Gabriel Pirani had been on loan at DC United since the second half of 2023 and the club decided to exercise the option to purchase the player. In ten matches for the North American team, he scored one goal.

The athlete was trained in Santos’ youth categories and promoted to the main team in 2020. The following year, he had the best season of his career, scoring five goals and providing four assists in 60 games.
In 2022, he was loaned to Cuiabá to compete in the Brazilian Championship. Last year, he returned to Peixe, but was loaned to Fluminense by coach Odair Hellmann.
Gabriel Pirani will compete in the pre-Olympic tournament with the Brazilian National Team. Preparations for the competition begin on January 8th at Granja Comary and on the 16th the delegation travels to Venezuela, host of the championship that will be played between January 20th and February 11th.
