According to reports by the Indian Express, Satadru Dutta, a sports promoter and business consultant, managed to persuade Ronaldinho’s brother and manager, Assis, to arrange the legendary Brazilian footballer’s visit to India ahead of the Durga Puja, one of the grandest festivities in West Bengal.

Dutta, already behind the India visits of Pele, Maradona and Cafu, among others, confirmed the big news saying: “There are several reports circulating in the media about who will visit Kolkata, but I can tell the fans that I have met Ronaldinho’s brother and manager, Assis, and the plan is to bring in the great Brazilian before the Durga Puja .”

The details

Ronaldinho’s trip to India will be brief but full of emotions. He plans to visit the legendary grounds of Mohun Bagan and East Bengal, where he hopes to play at least half an hour of football.

Besides, Ronaldinho will also visit the Durga Puja pandal of Narendrapur Green Park. This pandal will be designed in the image of the stadium of the 2022 FIFA World Cup final, the Lusail stadium in Qatar.

However, the exact dates of the visit are yet to be determined, due to Ronaldinho’s professional obligations. Satadru Dutta has proposed the dates of October 16-18, but he is confident that all parties will find common ground so that the legendary footballer can participate in the Durga Puja celebrations in Kolkata.
