Ronaldinho once again showed his respect for Diego Armando Maradona. During a tour of India, the emblematic former Brazilian soccer player took advantage of his stay in Calcutta to approach the statue of the Argentine legend and leave him some flowers as a tribute almost three years after the death of “Pelusa.”
Dinho was seen among a crowd of people on his way to the enormous figure of 10 lifting the World Cup, inaugurated in 2017 (with the presence of Diego himself) and with a height of almost 10 meters.

“Diego was one of the most important people for my football career. He was always an idol in my house. I have grown up watching Diego, he was my idol and I had the chance to be with him many times. We stayed as friends and it was always a pleasure to be with him,” he said in an interview with Diario Olé in 2021.
Furthermore, he was grateful for the love received from Argentina: “I feel loved by the Argentines. Whenever I am in Argentina or when I meet Argentinians, I have gotten along very well and I have to thank them for all the respect and affection.”
