With a very good performance at the Camping World, Rodrygo scored the goal for the Brazilian National Team and was the one who gave the most trouble to goalkeeper Turner. He was present in the main attacking plays of the team, created chances and almost scored at least one more goal in Brazil’s 1-1 draw with the United States on Wednesday night in Orlando (USA).

In an interview still on the field, Rodrygo said the National Team is at the beginning of a process and that it will find a balance in all sectors. He was referring to the number of chances created by the team and the many others the opponents had throughout the game.

“It’s always difficult to find this balance. Especially at the beginning of a process. Thankfully, we did very well in the friendly matches of the previous FIFA date (against England and Spain) and that gave us tranquility for the continuation of the work. Gradually, the team will fit in, will gain cohesion,” said Rodrygo.

He predicted an improvement in the National Team’s performance at the Copa América, whose Brazil debut will be on the 24th against Costa Rica.

“We will continue to create the chances and try to convert them into goals in the Copa América, also with a more cohesive defensive system.”

He believes that the Copa América, in the USA, will be marked by balance, due to the strength of several national teams. But he bets on the success of the Brazilian National Team.

“We have to be smart and adapt to the competition, which is very difficult. We know the quality of our team and we have to score the goals and defend well.”

Remembering Zagallo

Sambafoot Series launched a new documentary about the football legend Zagallo. Known as ‘Velho Lobo‘ and as superstitious as it gets, Zagallo helped shape what Brazilian football is nowadays — as a player and as a coach.
