Brazilian Roberto Firmino has been one of the most adored players by Reds fans in recent years. Nicknamed ‘Bobby’, he arrived on Merseyside in 2015 from Hoffenheim and quickly won the hearts of Liverpool supporters.
Since then, they have lived unforgettable moments together. Firmino was essential in winning the UEFA Champions League and the Club World Cup in 2019, as well as winning the first Premier League in the club’s history (which had not won the championship since the days of the First Division) in 2020. His contract will end in June, but before he leaves he can make history in the career of coach Jürgen Klopp.

Firmino, minutes away from making history for Klopp
Although he is already the athlete who has played the most matches under the German coach (353), the website This Is Anfield notes that Firmino is not the player who has played the most minutes with Klopp. However, he can become the first in this area by the end of the season.
Three rounds before the end of the 2022-23 Premier League, here is the list of players with the most playing time with the German coach:
- > Roman Weidenfeller (Dortmund) – 25,156 minutes
- > Neven Subotic (Dortmund) – 25,107 minutes
- > Roberto Firmino (Liverpool) – 25,020 minutes
- > Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) – 24,807 minutes
- > Andy Robertson (Liverpool) – 22,650mins
If he plays 137 minutes by the end of the season, Firmino will become Klopp’s most used player in terms of minutes on the pitch. Liverpool’s next matches will be against Leicester, Aston Villa and Southampton. ‘Bobby’ has missed the last five matches with a muscle injury. It remains to be seen if he will manage to have a key role when the season ends.
