Left-back Rikelme, 20 years old, already has a lot of stories to tell. He is the protagonist of two exploits in his early career. He was the first Cuiabá Esporte Clube player to be called up to a Brazilian team and the youngest scorer of a goal for his team in Série A of the Brasileirão.

In Caracas, he intends to update his CV in a few days as one of the players who managed to qualify for the Paris Olympics, in July and August this year.

He has no lack of commitment, dedication, support from his colleagues, the national team’s technical committee and his relatives, many of whom were born in Cuiabá, as well as Rikelme himself.

“God willing, I will make history with the Brazilian team too and that has always been a childhood dream,” he said.

For him, it makes no difference to start the final round of the competition against Paraguay – the match will be on Monday (5), at 5 pm (Brasília time), in the same stadium that has hosted Brazil’s games in Caracas: Brígido Iriarte.

The classification of the teams in the group stage determined the order of the matches. The Brazilian National Team will first face Paraguay and then Venezuela and Argentina. At the end of the quadrangular, the two best-scoring teams guarantee a place in the Paris Games.

“We are calm, any national team can come, as we are prepared, firm, and we are going strong for this second phase.”
