The forward shared that he has been in therapy since September when he faced challenges on and off the field.

“My speaking was very important, even for the National Team staff. When I arrived here, I already saw the psychologist, there has never been this before here. It was important. And the affection I received from people, we know the prejudice that exists when someone says they are seeking help, I myself had that prejudice, thankfully I no longer have it,” said the player.

Richarlison could reach 50 matches for the National Team in the two March friendlies. On Saturday, Brazil faces England at Wembley. Three days later, the Yellow and Green play against Spain in Madrid.

“As a player of the National Team, who has a voice, I tell people to really seek help. I can say because it saved my life,” added the Tottenham forward.

“It is important for the national team to have a psychologist to help the athletes. Only we know the pressure we face, not only on the field but also off it. I suffered more off the field myself. It is important to have a psychologist close to us,” he added.

Approaching 50 matches

Forward Richarlison is close to reaching 50 matches wearing the Brazilian National Team jersey. The Tottenham forward made a point on Tuesday (19) to express his joy in wearing the Yellow and Green again. He has played 48 matches for the national team and can reach the milestone of 50 matches this month of March.

“I am very happy to be reaching this milestone with the National Team; few players have such significant numbers. But I don’t want to stop here; I want more. The next milestone is 100 matches and so on. I am very happy; I hope to continue like this, evolving with this jersey and winning several titles, which is the most important,” said the 26-year-old player.

“I told Dorival Júnior that, for me, the National Team comes first. It’s God in heaven and the National Team on earth,” he concluded.
