Vinicius Junior childhood friend Felipe Silveira, a 27-year-old black man, claims he was the victim of a racist joke from a security guard before the match between Brazil and Guinea in Cornellà-El Prat.

Silveira affirms that he was on the normal clearance process when the security guard took a banana out of his pocket and said: ‘Hands up. This is my gun for you’. He and other members of Vinicius’ staff immediately took action and called the police.

According to Ge, who saw the incident happening, the banana was on the pocket of the security guard and other people tried to take him away from there, but the player’s staff did not let it happen. Until now, there are no news on the case.

After the game, Vinicius talked about it

Brazil’s new number 10 used his social network to protest the racist attack. He said he did not knew about it when he was on the pitch, only after the match.

“While I was playing with the already historic black shirt and getting emotional, my friend was humiliated and mocked at the entrance to the stadium. The treatment was sad, at all times they doubted the surreal scene that happened. Backstage is disgusting. But to make everything public, I ask those responsible: where are the security camera footage?,” he asked.

Silveira pressed charges yesterday (18) in Barcelona alongside a Brazilian FA (CBF) representative and one of the agents of Vinicius.

The game was supposed to have the motto of fighting against racism, with the Brazilian players wearing the black shirt for the first time in history. There were also other actions in order to bring light to the subject.
