On holidays after an unforgettable 2023 season with Fluminense, Marcelo returned to the Spanish capital and visited the Valdebebas sports complex, where he reunited with several of his former teammates at Real Madrid. However, the Brazilian took a moment to praise Jude Bellingham, who joined Los Blancos this season.
“He is my son Liam’s idol, and he wanted to take a photo with him. I see him very well. He’s had a very good start. We know that at Real Madrid, there is always room for improvement, but his start is tremendous, almost unbeatable,” said the 35-year-old full-back, via Agencia EFE.

Marcelo also mentioned that he still has a good relationship with Carlo Ancelotti, who will remain in Madrid until 2026 despite rumors linking him to the Selecao. Additionally, he revealed that the Italian supported Fluminense before the Copa Libertadores final: “I spoke to him before the Copa Libertadores final, and he told me he would be on Fluminense’s side. That’s why I wanted to give him the final jersey because it was special for me, and I know all Madridistas were with me.”
