The Brazilian Under-23 team, with a 100% record in the Pre-Olympic Tournament being held in Venezuela, faces the host team in Caracas this Thursday, ready to gain three more points.

There have been three consecutive victories so far – over Bolivia, Colombia and Ecuador. The retrospective guaranteed the team’s first place in Group A and classification for the next phase one round in advance.

Despite this, coach Ramon Menezes highlighted that, when wearing the Brazilian shirt, every Seleção player knows the responsibility of always seeking victory and that this will not change in this confrontation with Venezuela.

“Right at the beginning, I told the players that we were going to make seven finals here. So, we have another championship final ahead of us, we respect Venezuela a lot. Venezuela will fight hard for this result. This game will have a different atmosphere, with a packed stadium, the fans pushing, but our team is also used to that, we have great players who are prepared and have the responsibility of wearing the Brazilian team’s shirt”, said Ramon.

“What brought these players here was talent, it was the individual and collective condition of each of these athletes. We hope to have a great game against Venezuela”, highlighted the coach.

Venezuela needs a victory in the last round to move forward in the Pre-Olympics. The home team gained five points, with one win and two draws. The team is competing for the second place in the group against Ecuador, which has seven points and has already completed all of its group stage games. The Venezuelans must count on the support of the fans who promise to fill the Brígido Iriarte Stadium, in Caracas.

“This is normal, it is natural and it is part of the competition. It’s a very tough competition. So, it will be a game of spirit, attitude and dedication of the soul”, concluded Ramon.
